As one of the first multi-family residential developments in downtown Tigard, Attwell Off Main apartments aims to revitalize and transform its suburban setting into a pedestrian-oriented urban streetscape. Composed of two buildings with 165 market-rate apartments and more than 2,000 sf of commercial space, this mixed-use development is located within a 10-minute walk to Main Street shopping, the Tigard Public Library and the Tigard Transit Center, including the Westside Express Service commuter rail system.
Situated on the edge of Fanno Creek Park, Attwell Off Main’s adjacency to greenspace informs the design concept which serves to connect the pedestrian streetscape with the neighboring natural environment. While one building evokes a distinctly urban feel by anchoring the increasingly active corner at Burnham Street with retail opportunities, the other building quietly follows the topography down to Fanno Creek and extends right up to the tree line, integrating into the surrounding landscape. The interior design language alludes to the verdant calm of a greenhouse or conservatory that feels like an extension of the expansive courtyard and lush natural landscape beyond.
Attwell Off Main also incorporates a number of energy efficient and healthy environmentally responsible features, including an air barrier envelope system, high efficiency water heaters, LED lighting and low-VOC finish materials.
