Charged with reinvigorating the hotel with recreational guests in mind, while applying Marriott’s Great Room concept, SERA worked with RLJ Companies to upgrade the hotel lobby, restaurant and amenity spaces. The design concept for the renovation draws its inspiration from the idea of vistas, considering guests’ needs to be inspired by the possibilities of their surroundings.
Colors and textures are used for contrast, to organize space, and to be an engaging backdrop to the activities of the guest. Sight lines are intentional, welcoming the guest to the many possibilities of their environment. The restaurant, once tucked behind a wall and under-utilized, is now part of the lobby. All spaces are tailored for whatever experience the guest needs, whether it is the comfort of solo contemplation or the dynamic interactions of a group.
