Franklin Ide is a mixed-use residential apartment development that replaces one of the few remaining undeveloped surface parking lots in the NW 23rd neighborhood, one of Portland’s most vibrant and architecturally, culturally, and functionally diverse districts. The project includes a mix of two-bedroom, one-bedroom and studio-loft market rate apartments, leasing center, and 2,000 sf of retail space. The six story building also includes a Club Room for residents, underground parking, and landscaped courtyards on the front and rear of the building, both with backlit caged glass-rock art installations. The rear courtyard incorporates a contemporary stormwater waterfall system, fed by a large 90’ x 15’ elevated and landscaped stormwater planter that will contain and treat 100% of the building rainwater runoff.
Franklin Ide will provide a contemporary living environment and alternative in an area of mostly aging traditional apartment blocks. Interiors are open and loft-like with full height windows and wood floors throughout. Bay windows front the development for views up and down NW Lovejoy Street and balconies and terraces are provided on the rear south side.
