The North Hollow Apartments is a new mixed-use apartment building on Portland’s west side that offers residents the amenities of living close to the urban core. It features 121 apartments in a mix of studios, 1- and 2-bedroom units, with underground parking for 66 cars, and ground floor retail. The building design takes inspiration from the neighborhood’s historic apartment buildings, with a traditional tri-partite design, the use of contextual materials like stucco, and ornate metal elements in the canopies and balconies. The North Hollow is a quiet and respectful addition to the Goose Hollow neighborhood, providing urban infill in a downtown location that is changing from primarily day-activated offices to a walkable, vibrant live-work neighborhood.
Resident amenities include bike storage, a community room, and a rooftop terrace with views of downtown and forested hills. The community room, located next to the lobby, is broken up into multiple intimate spaces through the use of different interior finishes and furniture. A kitchen, living room, and garden-inspired seating area give residents a variety of areas to connect and interact.
