The SpringHill Suites in Oceanside, CA is a new six-story, 149 guestroom hotel with a crisp, modern design. Amenities range from a rooftop pool and fitness room to a completely custom interior design package. Guest valet parking leads into a generous lobby and buffet breakfast area as well as business center and networking areas. The prefunction area and a 2,000 sf meeting room adjoin the main lobby. All guest areas have an accessible outdoor component, including a 7,500 sf deck on the second level with drink and dinner service and several outdoor fireplaces.
The interior design package works off of guest amenities central to the SpringHill Suites target demographic, but with a uniquely Southern California approach to the concept. Materials, patterns, colors and textures reflect the natural elements of Oceanside’s beachfront setting and their interplay with the forms of the man-made environment, whether it’s a surfboard, the pier, or the sunlight on the sand. Guestrooms offer a distinctive yet comfortable experience with varied textural neutrals threaded with lively color.
SERA’s scope of work on this project also included LEED consulting and management provided by our in-house Sustainability Resources Group. Sustainable design strategies include: highly efficient indoor plumbing fixtures designed to meet at least 30% reduction in potable water use, mechanical systems that are energy efficient and achieve greater than 30% savings, a strong focus on sourcing regionally-manufactured materials and ones that contain recycled content, and using materials and finishes that are non-toxic and enhance the indoor environmental quality. In addition, guests are invited to participate in the green story of the hotel through an Eco-Concierge.
