SERA partnered with Page on the Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) for OSU’s Cascades Campus in Bend, Oregon. This master plan will expand the campus from its initial 10-acre, 3-building facility to a full 128-acre campus, serving 5,000 students. The LRDP addresses multiple facets of planning:
- Preparing a technically complex site – including a former pumice mine over 100 feet deep and a former demolition landfill – for development
- Siting academic, campus life and residential facilities for the university’s growth
- Laying out a vision for an Innovation District, to allow for a variety of partnerships with emerging businesses and the community, and
- Accommodating systems and strategies to meet OSU-Cascades’ goals of a campus that is net-zero energy and waste-, carbon- and water-neutral.
SERA assisted the University to capture the public’s input to create a shared vision for the campus and its role in the community.
