The Rivage apartments provide modern riverside living in Portland’s Northwest River District, bridging the urban core and the expanding neighborhoods to the north. The two buildings together provide 260 units in a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, with ground-floor retail, amenity spaces, and lobbies. The design takes cues from the water and the Pacific Northwest vernacular by incorporating warmth, reflectivity, and the patterns and movement of the river. A central courtyard opens out onto the river, and the many balconies, terraces and a common roof deck provide ample opportunities to enjoy waterfront living. Apartments are set back from the river’s edge to allow for a Greenway Path, with native plants and trees, to connect this area of Portland’s waterfront with downtown. The project also includes underground parking for both cars and bicycles.
