Savier Street Flats is a multi-story mixed-use project located in Portland’s Northwest Alphabet District. The design recalls the proportions and massing of the early 20th century apartments, with courtyard entrances, similar façade proportion, and bay windows. Ground floor flats offer either private terraced areas or access directly from the street for potential live-work units. This new development provides a model for respectful infill projects within the historic district.
The project consists of two four-story buildings with a total of 179 market-rate apartments, ground-floor retail and underground parking. It is located within a vibrant pedestrian-oriented neighborhood and has easy access to public transit and bicycle avenues.
The project is targeting LEED Homes Gold and features high-efficiency windows, a high-performance envelope, low-flow fixtures, on-site stormwater treatment using drywells, high-efficiency heat pumps, and landscaping with native planting that require less irrigation.
