SERA, led by Tim Smith, has been providing urban design review services to the City of San Francisco Mayor’s Office for the redevelopment of Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island. The 535 acre man-made Treasure Island, formerly a U.S. Navy Base, will be the home of 16,000 residents, and will include space for commercial, community, recreation, urban farming and cultural facilities. Yerba Buena Island will be the site of a residential community. SERA advised the city and the development design team on urban design, branding types and design, streets, open spaces and environmental legibility.
