Top 3 travel destinations
I’ve spent time studying in Spain, Italy and Japan and had incredible, enriching experiences. But my dream trip would involve gorilla trekking, a Serengeti safari and climbing Kilimanjaro.

Kiyojute Ryu Kempo (a bit more than a hobby), mountain biking, skiing, oil painting alla prima (is there any other way with a toddler in the house?) and, of course, copious consumption of audiobooks.

Car, bike or bus
I like to mix up my commute but usually do a car/Max combo, or ride my bike the 10 miles for maximum endorphin – and self-fulfillment.

Bluebeam or Adobe Reader
Bluebeam, of course.

Fondest childhood memory
Some of my greatest childhood memories took place back in Kentucky at ol’ Camp Tall Trees. I’d spend a week there every summer with 60 other boys, getting filthy, eating tube steaks and bug juice, scaring the bejesus out of myself on rope swings and mud slides, exploring caves, telling ghost stories, sneaking through the forest at night and basically living the little boy dream.

Time of day I’m most creative
Usually between the hours of 9am and 2pm. This roughly corresponds to my primary daily dosage of caffeine. Also, in the shower.

Preferred radio station
KCRW Santa Monica! Morning Becomes Eclectic. Love it.

Pets/animals I own
Fauna the Poodle. Likely the sweetest dog this side of the Mississippi, she’s very smart, very athletic and really just wants to make you happy. Though she can be something of a bossypants at the dog park.

My dream home
I encountered a lot of beautiful Victorian homes as a child and they left an indelible impression on me with their high ceilings, tall windows and beguiling nooks and crannies. My ideal home would be a clean, modern take on a classic Victorian on a wooded lot on the outskirts of town.
