SAP Podcast, Ep. 4: Sustainable Placemaking

Sustainability, when you scale it up beyond buildings to think about neighborhoods, campuses, or regions, isn’t just about stormwater and mini-power grids. Sustainable strategies have to be rooted in the character and identity of their location, and add to its richness—this is what we mean by sustainable placemaking.

History, past development patterns, and ongoing community participation are some of the watchwords when our Urban Design and Planning team takes on a sustainable planning project—and the work gets very exciting as they conceptualize and develop plans for places that are both deeply human and deeply rooted in their locales. Hear more as planner Erin Reome joins Mark and Beth to share some stories and talk about some lofty goals for Sustainable Placemaking.
